Mysuru: S. Shivakumar has been awarded Ph.D degree in Education by the University of Mysore (UoM) for his thesis “A study of Juvenile delinquents Educational status, Psycho-Social factors and need for guidance.” He worked under the guidance of Dr. N. N. Prahallada, former Associate Professor in Education, RIE, Mysore.
S.Bhuvaneshwari, a multifaceted talent from Mysuru, has been awarded Ph.D in Dance by Indira Kala Sangit Vishwavidyalay, Chhattisgarh, for her thesis “Folk dances of South Karnataka – An analytical study”. The thesis speaks nuances of over 100 folk dances of South Karnataka and India, Gestures and Movements in Folk Dances and Bharatanatyam and Classical ragas used in folk songs.
Bhuvaneshwari, who is undergoing advanced training under Natyarani Shantala Dr. Vasundhara Doraswamy, is presently working in KSGH Music & Performing Arts University as a lecturer in the Department of Bharatanatyam.
