Mysore/Mysuru: The Government will soon hold elections to the Karnataka State Pharmacy Council (KSPC).
Announcing this at a press meet here recently, Karnataka Registered Pharmacists Association Director Arun said that the Government has set the tone for the elections with the appointment of Electoral Officer.
Pointing out that the Association had submitted a memorandum in this regard to MLC K.T. Srikantegowda, who in turn had sought the attention of the Government on the undue delay in holding the elections, Arun said that the elections to KSPC has not been held since 2003 August.
Maintaining that online sales of medicines had severely hit retail Pharmacy shops, he said that online delivery of medicines in the absence of prescriptions is wrong.
Arguing that the Government should not legalise online sale of medicines, he urged the Government to take steps for putting an end to unhealthy competition.
Association President Dr. D. Kaushik, Director Vasanth Joshi and others were present at the press meet.
