Mysuru: Mandi Police have arrested five pickpockets from Bengaluru, who were planning to loot a house in city.
The arrested are 21-year-old Sharuk Pasha and Siddiq Pasha, 26-year-old Ejaz Qureshi and T.K. Imran and 45-year-old Fairoz Pasha, all residents of Bengaluru.
Following information that five persons in a Tata Indica car were moving around in a suspicious manner near Vinayaka Subramanyeshwara Temple at Vandemataram Nagar in Mandi Police limits, Mandi Inspector L. Arun and staff, who swing into action, raided the spot and took the five persons into custody.
During interrogation, the accused is said to have told the Police that their accomplice Irfan of Ramanagar had brought them to Mysuru to commit pickpockets during Jumboo Savari and they had stolen seven mobile phones at City Bus Stand on that day and Irfan had gone to Bengaluru to keep the stolen phones and come back again to loot a house and go back to Bengaluru after that besides stating that they were waiting for Irfan.
The Police, who searched that car, found two packets of chilli powder, three mobile phones, three wickets and two machetes and seized them. Mandi Police, who have registered a case in this regard, have launched a hunt to nab Irfan.
