Mysore/Mysuru: A pillion rider was killed when a tipper vehicle ran over him near Bogadi Road signal on the Outer Ring Road on July 1.
The deceased has been identified as Siddaramu (58), a resident of Mandya. One R. Praveen, a resident of Chamundeshwari Nagar in city, was taking Siddaramu on his Bajaj Discover bike (KA-45-Y-4359) to Mandya to get some electronic works done.
At about 9.35 am, when the duo crossed the traffic signal lights on Bogadi Road and were proceeding further, a speeding tipper vehicle (KA-42-A-7598) while overtaking the bike, touched the bike’s handle resulting in Siddaramu falling to his left side and Praveen to his right side.
As Siddaramu fell to his left side, the tipper ran over him causing serious injuries to him. Praveen too has sustained injuries. Though Siddaramu was rushed to K.R. Hospital, he is said to have breathed his last mid way. The tipper driver fled from the spot leaving behind the vehicle and K.R. Traffic Police, who have registered a case in this regard, are investigating.
