Plan well the Heritage Walk in heritage city

Sir,

It was heartening to see that more than 350 participants took part in Sunday morning’s (Oct.6) heritage walk, marking a significant increase from the usual turnout of approximately 15-20 participants when these walks are organised by the Department of Archaeology, Museums and Heritage.

For those who have attended these heritage walks, the typical route reveals the true essence of what constitutes a heritage city. The experts who share their insights do an excellent job of sparking interest in the sites covered. What better way to learn about this heritage city than to stroll through it in the morning?

I urge the Department to plan a comprehensive coverage of all the routes outlined in their brochure, particularly during the festival season — from Dasara to New Year. With adequate publicity in popular tourist spots throughout the city, I believe the turnout could exceed 30-40 participants.
