With the Independence Day and Ganesha Festival round the corner, the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) has cracked a whip on the sale of plastic flags and use of PoP Ganesha idols. In a press release, MCC Health Officer Dr. M.S. Jayanth has said that cases would be booked against those found manufacturing and selling plastic flags and PoP Ganesha idols. He added that MCC Standing Committee and Health Inspector would conduct regular checks and book cases against those violating the rule. Dr. Jayanth has instructed to use clay idols and khadi flags to free the city from pollution and to maintain cleanliness.
