Senior theatre artiste Indira Nair delivers talk at valedictory of ‘ART intro’ summer camp
Mysore/Mysuru: “Children being allowed to play with mud and colours will help in enhancing their creativity,” said senior theatre artiste Indira Nair.
Speaking at the valedictory of ‘ART intro’ summer camp, jointly organised by Indian Institute of Educational Theatre, Varna Collective And Mysore Art Centre, at Hardwicke School premises in city on May 12, Indira, remembering her childhood days, mentioned that the children then had the opportunity to play with mud and colours and added that the children today were being restricted from even touching the mud.
Stating that children should be taught to play with mud and colours, she said that parents should take up the responsibility of increasing the creativity among the children.
Speaking on the occasion, Music Composer Srikanta said that the children would naturally have the ability to grasp different musical notes and it was the responsibility of the parents to identify their talent and encourage them to enhance their skills.
He also said that ‘ART intro,’ not only restricting itself to summer camps, also has plans to conduct classes to art teachers and students in the coming days as there were many opportunities in the field of arts.
The students were later distributed with certificates following which they presented cultural programmes under the theme ‘Raag Saraag.’
Senior Theatre Person and Rangayana former Director Prasanna, ‘ART intro’ Director Cheluvaraj, writer Keerthi Byndoor and others were present.
