Sir,
The areas in and around Vijayanagar Water Tank are in complete shambles. Roads are ripped off for more than a year now. The Park stretch between Vidyavardhaka Engineering College and temporary food street is in a neglected condition with overgrown shrubs and the place used as open urinals.
By-lanes near the area are make-shift dining places (or drinking places) for the nearby bars. Footpaths have vanished. Haphazard parking has thrown public onto the roads.
Commercial encroachments (so much so, a quick bite hotel is using ‘No-Parking’ board as a light pole!) have constricted pedestrian access. Only visible official activity is helmet checking by traffic cops near the abandoned bus stand.
Harried citizens are wondering why this important area is being subjected to extreme neglect by the elected representatives. Is anyone responsible listening? Please move around once and you will understand the plight of general public.
