Mysuru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s younger brother Prahlad Damodar Modi arrived in city yesterday with his family and visited sight-seeing places in city.
After visiting Amba Vilas Palace, Prahlad Modi and family got into three tongs and went around the Palace on the road in the outer periphery. After visiting Durbar Hall, Kalyana Mantapa and watching the exquisite paintings on the walls, Prahlad Modi delightedly wrote in the visitors book “Such rich heritage paintings are still seen in this modern world and the skill of artists of yesteryears are matchless.”
The dignitary family earlier visited Srirangapatna and Chamundi Hill. On their arrival in city they were welcomed by City BJP President Dr. B.H. Manjunath and other leaders.
Speaking to press persons at Government House here yesterday Prahlad Modi, who is the Vice-President of National Fair Price Shop Owners’ Association, said that the Anna Bhagya scheme of the State and similar ones in other States have not been implemented properly with repeated amendments posing problems to distributors also.
He urged a National policy on Public Distribution System (PDS) as the existing one governed by States has many shortcomings resulting in impulsive decisions by senior officers of the Department. He asked all States to emulate Chhattisgarh which has a good PDS.
