Bengaluru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the State on Sept.7, according to Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa.
Speaking after paying tributes to the portrait of Hockey legend Dhyanchand as part of ‘Fit India’ campaign programme held in front of Vidhana Soudha on Thursday, Yediyurappa said that he will seek funds for flood relief from the Centre during the Prime Minister’s visit to the State on Sept.7.
Stating that he is hoping for good news from the Centre on flood relief funds, the CM said that the State has drawn up many plans for promotion of sports, stressing on the need for making ‘Fit India’ campaign a huge success.
Recalling the achievements of Hockey legend Dhyanchand, he reiterated that the State would do everything possible for the promotion of young talented sports persons.
Noted sports persons Prakash Nanjappa, Salman Pasha, Archana Kamath and others took part in the event. Ministers C.T. Ravi, Basavaraj Bommai and R. Ashoka were present.
