Bengaluru: Mysuru District Administration has extended the official invitation to noted Kannada poet Padmashree K.S. Nissar Ahmed, who has been selected by the State Government to inaugurate this year’s Dasara festivities.
Kokkare Hosahalli Shekh Haider Nissar Ahmed, popular as “Nityotsava Kavi”, will inaugurate the festival atop the Chamundi Hill on Sept. 21.
The invitation was extended to Nissar Ahmed at his house in Nagarabhavi in Bengaluru this morning by Deputy Commissioner D. Randeep, Mayor M.J. Ravikumar, Additional DC T. Yogesh and Additional Commissioner of Mysuru City Corporation N. Raju.
After inviting Nissar Ahmed, the District Administration team was scheduled to visit Governor Vajubhai R. Vala at Raj Bhavan to invite him. The team would later visit the Karnataka High Court to invite Chief Justice Subhro Kamal Mukherjee. Next, they will proceed to Vidhana Soudha to officially invite Chief Minister Siddharamaiah to the festival.
After inviting the CM, the team led by DC and Dasara Special Officer D. Randeep will call on Mysuru District In-charge Minister Dr. H.C. Mahadevappa at his residence in Bengaluru to invite him. Tomorrow, the team is scheduled to meet Pramoda Devi of Mysore royal family to invite her for the festival. The DC said that they had sought an appointment with Pramoda Devi for tomorrow.
