Mysore/Mysuru: In a major catch, Udayagiri Police, who arrested a burglar, have recovered 392.5 gram of gold jewellery worth Rs. 26 lakh stolen by him.
The arrested has been identified as Syed Aslam, a resident of Rajiv Nagar second stage.
Syed Aslam had burgled the house of one G. Ashok Kumar, a resident of Parashakti Road in Rajiv Nagar second stage on the night of May 11 and had decamped with 395 gram of gold jewellery. With his arrest, the Police have recovered 392.5 gram of gold jewellery, which included 2 chains, 3 rings, 3 necklaces and bangles, totally worth about Rs. 26 lakh.
The nabbing and recovery operation was carried out by Udayagiri Inspector K.N. Sudhakar and staff under the guidance of DCP S. Jahnavi and Devaraja Sub-Division ACP Shantamallappa.
