A citizen’s request to follow Police Commissioner’s order to remove unnecessary barricades
Sir,
Another example of illogical decision that inconveniences the public can be seen on the road in front of the Police Training School near Forum City Centre in Nazarbad.
The City Traffic Police have placed not one, not two, not three, but 10 barricades on the road which is creating a bottleneck for motorists. Even the Bengaluru International Airport does not have so many barricades!
And the reason they have erected so many barricades is for the convenience of Police trainees, who cross the road to reach the Parade Ground from their hostel on the otherside.
These 10 barricades are now blocking traffic, especially during peak hours and the entire stretch is choked as vehicles are forced to slow down to negotiate the barricades laid zigzag on this busy road.
Is there a need to inconvenience so many members of the public just so a troop of Police trainees can cross the road four times a day?
Also while the trainee Policemen cross the road four times a day, these barricades remain on the road 24/7 hampering smooth flow of vehicular traffic from surrounding areas such as Nazarbad, Chamundi Layout and Siddartha Layout. This road also connects the Highway towards Bannur and T. Narasipur where a lot of buses ply causing even more congestion.
My question here is, when school children can cross any road to enter and exit their school without barricades, why can’t adult Policemen?
Why can’t one of the Policemen simply stand and hold the traffic for a few minutes while the trainees cross the road instead of inconveniencing the public 24/7, 365 days with 10 barricades placed zigzag on an crucial connecting road.
Thank you Commissioner but this is one more request
I feel in recent times Mysuru Traffic Police have been very liberal in their use of barricades. I request the City Police Commissioner to please remove these 10 barricades and help the traffic move smoothly.
I remember Police Commissioner K.T. Balakrishna had ordered the removal of unnecessary barricades within city limits when he took over as Police Commissioner and as promised he removed the barricades on Lalitha Mahal Road which greatly helped in smooth movement of traffic.
I hope he will do the same for the road in front of Police Training School also.
