Mysore/Mysuru: Metagalli Police have thwarted a six-member gang’s bid to steal stone made elephant idols and flower pots from a workshop near old Kasturi Nivasa Hotel on the service road of Mysuru-Bengaluru Expressway on the wee hours of Aug. 18.
The accused were loading a pair of elephant idols and flower pots in flower design, all made of stone into a jeep, with the intention of stealing the articles worth Rs. 2 lakh. The patrolling party of Metagalli Police Station, along with those of crime wing, surrounded the accused and apprehended them, besides seizing the articles.
The operation was carried out by a Police team led by ACP (Vijayanagar Sub-Division) H.S. Gajendra Prasad including Metagalli Police Station Inspector R. Diwakar, PSIs V.R. Shabareesh and Jyothsna Raj, ASIs Joseph Naronha and Papegowda, staff K.N. Harish, Diwakar, G. S. Manika, B.S. Abhijit, Parasuhram Rathod, K. Adarsh and Nagaraj.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP)-Crime & Traffic S. Jahnavi supervised the investigation.
