Bengaluru: An FIR has been registered against former Deputy Chief Minister and senior BJP leader K.S. Eshwarappa, who has revolted against the party for denying a Lok Sabha ticket to his son K.E. Kantesh from Haveri seat, on charges of violation of Model Code of Conduct.
The FIR has been registered against him for organising a political meeting without getting prior permission from the competent authorities.
Eshwarappa, who has declared that he would be contesting the LS polls from Shivamogga Constituency as an independent candidate, is said to have held a political meeting with over 50 local leaders after performing puja at Ambuthirtha Temple in Thirthahalli taluk of Shivamogga district, in violation of the poll code.
