Mysuru: With elections over, officials deputed for poll duty, returned to work as usual at their respective departments yesterday.
Most of the offices including the MCC, MUDA, Education, Revenue Departments etc. wore an almost deserted look in the past week as most of the staff were assigned for poll duty elsewhere.
Soon after resuming work at their offices, most of the officials were seen packing leftover poll stationery to be dispatched to store rooms.
KR Constituency Returning Officer (RO) Mohammed Zubair, who is CESC General Manager, speaking to Star of Mysore, said that the elections provide a big opportunity for poll officials to learn about the democratic process.
Maintaining that he was satisfied with his election job as KR Returning Officer, he said that he was happy to note that the elections passed off peacefully.
Pointing out that all the poll staff worked under directions from the Deputy Commissioner, who is also the District Electoral Officer, he thanked the people’s representatives, the public, officials, media and all others who extended their co-operation for the peaceful conduct of elections.
