Cleaning process, removal of shamiyanas and chairs begin at Mysore Palace
Mysore/Mysuru: The cleaning process of the Jumboo Savari route where lakhs witnessed the grand finale yesterday was taken up after the conclusion of the Torchlight Parade at Bannimantap last night and by today morning, the entire Jumboo Savari route was clean and tidy. Thanks to the pourakarmikas of the MCC, who worked all night to keep the city clean. A large quantity of plastic covers and empty drinking water bottles which was strewn all along the procession route was collected and cleared from the roads.
Meanwhile, removal of shamiyanas, chairs, stage and other temporary structures, which were erected for Dasara at the Mysore Palace premises, took place this morning.
Hundreds of empty drinking water bottles, empty plastic covers and papers, which were strewn all around, was collected and dumped at one place to be cleared later.
Meanwhile, MCC Health Officer Dr. D.G. Nagaraj, speaking to SOM, said that the cleaning process of the entire Jumboo Savari route has been completed and the cleaning process at Mysore Place has been taken up this morning.
“Pourakarmikas, along with volunteers of various NGOs and Mysore Palace cleaning staff, are undertaking the cleaning process. Apart from the regular MCC Pourakarmikas, 365 additional Pourakarmikas were deployed on temporary bases for Dasara, who worked 24×7 to keep the city clean. Their works have been appreciated by the District Minister,” he added.
