Postmen to provide Life Certificate to pensioners at doorstep

Mysore/Mysuru: In a relief to pensioners, Postmen will now provide doorstep service to pensioners for submitting their Life Certificates.

In general, all pensioners are required to submit Jeevan Pramaan Patra (Life Certificate) every year in the month of November to continue withdrawal of pension. Till recently, all pensioners had to visit their banks in November every year to render a ‘Life Certificate.’

Recently, India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) of Department of Posts has launched the doorstep life certificate submission service for pensioners. They also have option of submitting Life Certificate at the nearest Post Office. 

The process will be undertaken using mobile phone and biometrics. Now, pensioners can contact and submit their request to the postman or visit the nearest Post Office. The service will attract a nominal fee of Rs 70. 

All Central and State Government pensioners of all Departments who have to submit Life Certificate can avail this service.

The members of Central Government Pensioners Association, Mysuru, may submit their Life Certificate at the nearest Post Office or avail the doorstep service of Postman, according to Association President Dr. T.S. Sathyanarayana Rao.
