Mysuru: Karnataka State Pourakarmikas Mahasangha will take out a protest rally tomorrow (Sept.19) in city urging MCC to abolish contract labour system abiding by the government order.
Addressing a press meet at Pathrakarthara Bhavan here yesterday, Mahasangha President Narayan warned that the Pourakarmikas would boycott Dasara festivities if their demand was not fulfilled. He recalled that the State Government had abolished contract Pourakarmika system in local bodies as per the order issued on July 12, 2017 but regretted that MCC had not implemented the order.
Narayan further said that the Pourakarmikas would take out the protest rally tomorrow at 11 am from Town Hall to DC’s Office with black bands on their shoulders. He warned that cleaning activities would be suspended from Oct.3 if the demand was not met within 15 days. He added that Pourakarmikas have great respect for Dasara festival but regretted that they have no other alternative means to register their demand.
