Mysore/Mysuru: Seeking fulfilment of their various demands, which chiefly included regularisation of service of Pourakarmikas serving in all Local Bodies of the State, Pourakarmikas will take out a ‘Bengaluru Chalo’ tomorrow (Dec. 22).
Addressing a press meet at Jaladarshini Guest House here yesterday, Narayana, President of State Pourakarmika Association and also a former Mysuru Mayor, said that only 11,800 of the over 35,000 Pourakarmikas are getting direct payment facility, while 26,200 others are not getting this facility.
As such, the Pourakarmikas will take out a ‘Bengaluru Chalo’ rally on Dec. 22. The rally which commences from the BBMP Main Office in the heart of Bengaluru City, will terminate at Freedom Park, where a Convention will take place, he said adding that the demands include job security and financial and social security measures.
Pourakarmika leaders R. Shivanna, S.M. Palaniswamy, Nagaraju, R.Das, Palani, Jayaramu, K. Nagarathna and Manju were present at the press meet.
