Power saving techniques highlighted at Energy Department Pavilion

Mysuru: The pavilion of the Department of Energy at Dasara Exhibition  Grounds, under the theme ‘Save Energy, Earth and Green’ provides a plethora of information on the projects implemented by Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC)  in its jurisdiction covering Hassan, Kodagu, Mysuru, Mandya and Chamarajanagar districts. The projects include uninterrupted power supply, regularisation of illegal pump-sets and Smart Grid Pilot Scheme.

Information is also given on Central Government projects like Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana. Precautionary informations like to avoid going near snapped or dangling power cable, not to use electric poles for other purposes and charging fences with power which is illegal are also displayed to benefit visitors.

Huge boards carrying messages on power saving like usage of Light Emitting Diode (LED) bulbs and Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFL), solar water heaters and judicial usage of decorative lights are also put up at the pavilion to educate the people. A model of the Transmission Zone of KPTCL is also put on display at the stall.
