Coinciding with the upcoming LS polls, the Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) has announced a significant reduction on electricity tariff for all categories of consumers across the State. Effective from Monday, Apr. 1, the Unit rate of Electricity has been reduced by Re. 1.10. This reduction is particularly beneficial for domestic consumers who use more than 100 units per month, with the tariff now set at Rs. 5.90 per unit, down by Rs. 1.10 from the previous Rs. 7 per unit. Notably, this marks the first decrease in power tariffs in Karnataka in 15 years.
