Prakash Rai files defamation to gain cheap publicity

I have not received any warrant: MP

Mysuru: Actor Prakash Rai just to gain cheap publicity during election time has filed a defamation case against me, but I have not received any warrant relating to this, said MP Pratap Simha. He was reacting to a question by the media after launching the 34th Journalists State Conference ‘Madhyama Ratha’ here yesterday and said that he was present right there and had not received any arrest warrant.

“My office staff had not brought to my notice the summons that had come from the People’s Representative Court in Bengaluru asking me to appear before them. In the light of this, neither I nor my lawyers on my behalf had gone for hearing. Hence, the Court has directed the City Police Commissioner to make it certain that I appear before them on Mar.19. This is not an arrest warrant,” he clarified.

“The Bandipur National Park has been deliberately set on fire. Otherwise, it is not possible for the forest to catch fire. The truth must be brought out in this incident,” he said.
