T. Narasipur: Congress candidate and sitting MP from Chamarajanagar R. Dhruvanarayan has claimed that the BJP forced its senior leader Sreenivasa Prasad to contest from Chamarajanagar.
Addressing a meeting of party workers here on Tuesday, he maintained that Prasad had no interest to contest but was forced to contest by the BJP to take him (Dhruva) in Chamarajanagar.
Recalling his association with Prasad when he was in the Congress, the MP asserted that he did his best to prevent Prasad from quitting the Congress, after he was dropped from the Siddharamaiah Cabinet.
Reiterating that he has no political or personal differences with Prasad, Dhruvanarayan appealed the people to re-elect him.
Former ZP member Puttabasavaiah, KPCC member Dhananjayagowda, ZP member Manjunathan, Varuna Block Congress President K. Muddegowda and others were present.
