Primary School teachers to take out protest rally on Feb.16

Mysuru: The District unit of State Primary School Teachers Association will take out a protest rally in city on Feb. 16 to urge the government to initiate the transfer process at the earliest.

Disclosing this at a press meet at Patrakarthara Bhavan here yesterday, Association District General Secretary Somegowda said that the rally would commence from Maharaja’s College Grounds and proceed to the DC’s office where a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister would be submitted to the DC. The transfer process has been held up for the last three years for election and other reasons which had inconvenienced many teachers. The process should be restarted in June. The serving teachers have been deprived of promotion as direct recruitment has been initiated. Hence, conditional promotions for serving teachers should be started, said Somegowda.

Association officer-bearers Basavaraj, Y.K. Nagaraj, Mahesh, Mamatha, Kousalya and Babita Rani were present at the press meet.
