T. Narasipur: With permission from the State Government and the District Administration, private buses will be resuming its service in the district from June 1 (tomorrow), said Mysuru District Private Bus Owners Association Vice-President P. Puttaraju.
Addressing press persons in the town yesterday, Puttaraju said that following the Centre’s guidelines, the State Government has relaxed the lockdown norms and commercial activities have begun. As a green signal is given for private buses to operate, the services of private buses will begin tomorrow, he added.
Continuing, Puttaraju said that as permission is also given in the neighbouring districts of Chamarajanagar and Mandya, all preventive measures will be taken to prevent the spread of Coronavirus before the bus picks up passengers.
He added that a meeting with private bus owners by the officials concerned was held where the officials have clearly told the bus owners about the bus movements and the number of passengers to be ferried. The rules given by the officials would be strictly followed, he added.
Passengers to pay KSRTC rate
Private buses will ferry the same number of passengers as being ferried by KSRTC buses. As permission is given for KSRTC to ferry 30 passengers at a time, private buses too will ferry 30 passengers and commuters have to pay KSRTC fare for their destination, Puttaraju said and added that more than 30 private buses will ply from Monday.
