Private factory employee, MCC staffer die of COVID in Mysuru

Mysore/Mysuru: An employee of a private factory and a staff of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) have died of COVID in city.

While the private factory employee passed away at the District COVID Hospital on Saturday, the MCC staffer has breathed his last yesterday morning at the COVID Care in a private hospital here.

The 53-year-old employee of the private hospital was tested positive for COVID last week and was admitted to the COVID Care Centre at the new Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) building near Mandakalli. As the patient began to suffer from severe respiratory problems, he was shifted to the District COVID Hospital and was put on ventilator. The patient died at about 8.30 pm on Saturday, according to the officials.

The body of the deceased was cremated on Sunday at the Crematorium in Vijayanagar 4th Stage as per the Government protocol. The deceased leaves behind his wife, one daughter and grandchildren. 

MCC staffer: The MCC staffer, who was working as a Second Division Assistant at the Planning Section in MCC Zone-8 Office was aged 53 years and was tested positive for COVID on July 23.

He was admitted to the COVID Care Centre at a private hospital here where he passed away yesterday. He leaves behind his wife and two sons. 

The MCC Zone-8 Office has been sealed down and disinfected yesterday and today, according to the MCC Zonal Officer.
