Mysuru: Animal Husbandry Minister K. Venkatesh unveiled the poster for the Pet Dog Show and Dasara Milking Contest, organised by the Raitha Dasara Sub-Committee, at an event held yesterday at Jaladarshini Guest House here.
Speaking at the occasion, the Minister urged farmers and the general public to actively participate in the two events, scheduled for Oct. 6 and 7, and compete for prizes.
He announced that the prize money for the Cow Milking Contest, set for the same dates, has been doubled from previous years. The first prize is now Rs. 1 lakh, followed by Rs. 80,000 for second place, Rs. 60,000 for third, and Rs. 40,000 for fourth place. He encouraged cattle owners from across the State to participate in large numbers.
The Pet Dog Show will be held on Oct. 6 and Venkatesh invited dog owners to join the event with their families and enjoy the festivities.
Zilla Panchayat (ZP) Deputy Secretary and Raitha Dasara Sub-Committee Special Officer Dr. M. Krishnam Raju, Agriculture Joint Director K.G. Ravi, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services Department Deputy Director Dr. Nagaraj, Fisheries Department Deputy Director G.H. Manjunath and other officials were present at the event.
