Mysore/Mysuru: Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering (VVCE), Mysuru, hosted the VTU State-level Inter-Collegiate Men and Women Table Tennis (TT) Championships and selection trials 2024-25 at Kempegowda Indoor Sports Complex recently.
In all, 15 men’s team and 13 women’s team participated from VTU-affiliated Engineering Colleges across Karnataka.
Chief guest H.N. Shankaranarayana (retired PE Director, NIE, Mysuru) shared his experiences with the audience as a former TT player and spoke on the history of Table Tennis with the present scenario in India.
Guest of honour C.K. Muralidharan (sports journalist and Chairman of Madilu Seva Trust) gave a talk addressing the need for good sportsmanship, camaraderie among teams and importance of sports in collegiate life.
Vidyavardhaka Sangha (VVS) Hon. President Gundappa Gowda, Hon. Secretary Vishwanath Puttaswamy, Controller of Examination Dr. Sudev and Special Invitee Dr. Muralidhar from ATME, Regional Director of Physical Education Mysuru Division, VTU, were present during the programme.

Men’s — Winners: BMSCE Bengaluru; Runners: RVCE, Bengaluru; Third Place: VVCE, Mysuru.
Women’s — Winners: RVCE, Bengaluru; Runners: BMSITM, Bengaluru; Third Place: NHCE, Bengaluru.
