Pro-Kannada activist Thayur Vittalamurthy passes away

Mysore/Mysuru: Thayur Vittalamurthy (81), pro-Kannada activist and a resident of Agrahara, passed away following a heart attack in the wee hours of today in city.

He was the President of city’s Krishnarajendra Co-operative Bank (K.R. Co-operative Bank), Editor of Kannada fortnightly newspaper ‘Kannada Hirime’ and Hon. General Secretary of Mysuru District Private Bus Owners’ Association. He was also the recipient of the District Kannada Rajyotsava Award.

He leaves behind his wife, one son, one daughter and a host of relatives and friends.

Last rites were held at his native place Thayur this afternoon, according to sources.
