Prof. Byrappa opens ‘NMR Spectra Data Interpretation’ workshop

Mysore/Mysuru: The Department of Biochemistry, MMK and SDM Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mysuru, had organised a three-day National Workshop on ‘NMR Spectra Data Interpretation’ from Sept.29 to Oct.1.

Prof. K. Byrappa, Pro-Chancellor, Adichunchanagiri University and former VC of Mangalore University inaugurated the programme. In his address he deliberated the need for interdisciplinary research.

The workshop was attended by Post-Graduate students, research scholars and faculties from different parts of the country. Eminent NMR experts such as Dr. Sachin Chaudhari and Dr. Bettadaiah of CSIR-CFTRI, Mysuru; Prof. N. Suryaprakash  and Prof. K.V. Ramanathan of IISc, Bengaluru; Dr. Nilamoni Nath of Gauhati University and Dr. Gaurav Sharma from University of Texas were the resource persons. Prof. K. Kemparaju, Chairperson of DoS in Biochemistry, University of Mysore,  who was the chief guest at the valedictory, presented the ground-breaking discovery on understanding the tissue degeneration caused due to snake venom and finding a solution to treat the same.
