Mysore/Mysuru: CII’s Indian Green Building Council (IGBC), Mysuru Chapter, had organised ‘IGBC Mysuru Connect’ – Installation Ceremony of IGBC Mysuru Chapter’s office-bearers at Hotel Southern Star in city on Dec. 2.
Speaking on the occasion, M.G. Somashekar, Outgoing Chairman, IGBC Mysuru Chapter, said: “We in IGBC Mysuru wish to work more closely with local relevant Government Departments towards policy advocacy to green building construction, engage more and more working professionals in the journey towards green and net zero movement and engage the student community with more aggressive approach which would lead to a greener and healthier tomorrow.”
K. Sriram, Chairman, IGBC Skill Development Committee, highlighted some of the major contributions of IGBC on national and international platforms and mentioned that India is amongst the top three countries in the world today with highest green footprints of 9.75 billion sqft. amounting to over 8,700 projects under various typologies going green with IGBC.
Prof. Ar. D.S. Ramakrishna Rao, Incoming Chairman, IGBC Mysuru Chapter, said that IGBC’s intention has been to create more awareness about green building concepts and practices so that all the developments and construction activities in Mysuru should go green by either design or operation.
Chief Advisor, Strategy and Sustainable Development to KVIC, Dr. Sudharshana Ramaraju highlighted many sustainable techniques which are need of the hour and futuristic for the citizen and city.
Leadership of all the associate industry bodies such as CREDAI, BAI, NAREDCO, IIA, ISHRAE and CII were felicitated for being the support partner of IGBC over the years and over 90 distinguished members from the industry and academia from Mysuru attended the programme.
