Mysuru: Prof. NageshV. Bettakote, who is currently serving as Registrar (Evaluation) of Karnataka State Dr. Gangubai Hangal Music and Performing Arts in the city, has been appointed as the new Acting Vice-Chancellor of the Music Varsity.
The VC post had remained vacant after the tenure of Dr. Sarvamangala Shankar ended on May 5, 2018, following which Prof. R. Rajesh was appointed as Acting Vice-Chancellor.
As Prof. Rajesh’s term ended on Jan.5, Governor Vajubhai R. Vala, who is also the Chancellor of the University, appointed Prof.Nagesh Bettakote as Acting VC, with effect from Jan.6. His term will be for a period of one month or until a regular Vice-Chancellor is appointed, whichever is earlier, according to a notification issued by the Karnataka Governor’s Secretariat.
