Mysore/Mysuru: Prof. Nagesh V. Bettakote, who was serving as the Acting Vice-Chancellor of city’s KSGH Music and Performing Arts University, has been appointed as the regular VC of the University for a four-year term. The Governor, who is the Chancellor of all State-run Universities, issued an order making the appointment on Friday. Prof. Nagesh had earlier served the Music University as Registrar too.
In other appointments, Prof.Dayananda Agasara has been appointed as Vice-Chancellor of Gulbarga University at Kalaburagi. The post had been lying vacant for the past 18 months. Prior to his appointment, Prof.Agasara served as the Head of Molecular Biology Department of the University.
Prof. B.K. Thulasimala, has been appointed as Vice-Chancellor of Karnataka State Akkamahadevi Women’s University at Vijayapura. Prof. Thulasimala, who earlier served in the Department of Economics at University of Mysore (UoM) from 1991 to 2018, was currently serving as the Registrar of Sri Krishnadevaraya University at Ballari.
