She is invited by the Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP) to speak on India’s One Nation One Subscription (ONOS) policy, launched in January 2025 with a budget of Rs. 6,000 crore over three years. The initiative provides nationwide access to more than 13,000 journals from 30 publishers, benefitting over 18 million students, faculty, and researchers across 6,300 institutions.
Prof. Urs, who pioneered the Vidyanidhi Digital Library and eScholarship Portal in 2000, sees ONOS as both a gift of access and a missed golden opportunity.
