Mysore/Mysuru: Demanding that the Central Government rescind its plans to privatise Indian Railways, members of Railway Anti-Privatisation Action Committee staged protest in front of Mysuru Railway Station yesterday. The protesters alleged that the Central Government is trying to privatise Indian Railways in a staged manner which is going to adversely affect lives of lakhs of people working for Railways as they will lose their jobs.
Strongly condemning the hike in platform ticket price, the protesters also urged the Centre to restart Mysuru-Chamarajanagar Passenger Train.
Committee Members M. Umadevi, P.S. Sandhya, Seema, Harish, Sunil, Asiya, Kalavathi and others were present.
