Protest over ‘BJP plot’ to unseat CM

Mysuru: Activists from the Karnataka State Backward Classes Jagruti Vedike, led by State President K.S. Shivaram, staged a protest against BJP leaders, accusing the central BJP leadership of conspiring with State BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra to unseat Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. They allege that Vijayendra is involved in a ploy with JD(S) leaders to undermine the CM’s reputation.

The protesters gathered in front of the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) office, holding placards and chanting slogans against BJP and JD(S) leaders for allegedly attempting to remove AHINDA leader Siddaramaiah from his position as Chief Minister.

The Vedike highlighted their previous protests in 2021 regarding massive corruption in MUDA, implicating former CM B.S. Yediyurappa’s son, B.Y. Vijayendra. They criticised both Yediyurappa and Vijayendra for their silence on the issue.

The Vedike is now challenging Vijayendra to a public debate on this matter, scheduled for July 29, 2024, at 11:30 am in front of the Gandhi Statue Circle. They urged Vijayendra to accept the invitation and promised to present relevant documents.
