Mysore/Mysuru: Multilingual actor Prakash Raj has suggested that movements initiated by farmers and unemployed youth could intensify in the future if the Central Government continues to disregard their concerns.
Addressing a lecture titled ‘Aspirations of A Democratic System’ at Kalamandira yesterday, Prakash Raj ex-pressed concern about the growing anger among jobless youth and farmers, manifested through protests. He warned of challenging times ahead with no signs of peace on the horizon.
Prakash Raj criticised the democratic system for failing to instil a sense of brotherhood and awareness among children, contributing to the emergence of pressing issues. He urged individuals to question political leaders without fear, emphasising that the responsibility for the ongoing distress lies with society itself.
In a critique of the media, Prakash Raj condemned what he called one-sided reporting and highlighted the role of leaders who prioritise temple inaugurations over pressing social issues, contributing to the prevailing distress. Writer G.P. Basavaraju and theatre personality H. Janardhan (Janni) also attended the event.
