Provide lighting facility at bus shelters in Yadavagiri

For Representation Only

Sir,

The two bus shelters located next to Yadavagiri Post Office as well as opposite one near Mysuru Akashvani lacks lighting facility.

Many offices, hospitals, factories and other institutions are located in this area.

Large number of passengers including women are utilising these bus shelters. They have to wait in pitch dark with fear till the arrival of city buses.

Adding to the problem, city buses will not provide stops at these bus stops, alternatively they will stop in front of Akashvani or Ta. Ra. Su Circle to avoid passengers even though there is much space in the bus to accommodate them. As such passengers have to run behind the buses to board.

Through this column I request the authorities concerned to look into it and provide lighting facility to these two bus shelters at the earliest and the KSRTC  authorities should instruct their staff  to stop the buses at designated bus shelters.
