Bengaluru: In a bid to provide a permanent solution to those keeping wildlife artefacts to return the same to the Government under law, the matter will be discussed in the Cabinet meeting for the formation of a law, said Forest Minister Eshwar Khandre.
Speaking at a meeting of officials from the Legal and Forest Departments, he said that there is no provision under the law to keep wildlife artefacts and instructed the officials to re-submit the file regarding handing over the wildlife artefacts to the Government by those having them.
The meeting also deliberated on the protection of rights of forest dwellers and also into the legal aspects on one time provisions to return wildlife artefacts including pendants made from tiger claws to the Government.
