Mysuru: Rangayana will stage the play ‘Pushpa Parijatha’ as part of its weekend play on every Sunday starting from Oct. 20, said Ranayana Joint Director V.N. Mallikarjunaswamy, here this morning.
Addressing the presspersons at Rangayana premises, he said ‘Pushpa Parijatha’ was an adaptation of Hindi play ‘Harsingar’ originally written by playwright Srikanth Kishore and added that it has been adapted into Kannada by Sadashiva Garuda (Annaiah).
The musical-comedy play has been directed by Sanjay Upadhyaya, Director, Nirmaan Kalamanch in Patna, Bihar, who has also composed the music. He has the credit of directing the original play ‘Harsingar’ in Hindi. He has previously directed a couple of Kannada plays too including Mrichakatika authored by Sudraka.
H.K. Dwarkanath has designed the set, costume by Sigma Upadhyaya, choreography by Abhishek Chaudhary and light designed by Krishnakumar Narnakaje.
The play will be staged at Bhoomigeetha on Oct. 20 at 6.30 pm for which the tickets are available at Rangayana.
