Puthari festival at Kodava Samaja on Dec. 7

Mysore/Mysuru: The Management of Kodava Samaja, Mysuru, has decided to celebrate Puthari Namme-2022 at the Samaja premises in Vijayanagar on Dec. 7.  In the previous years, the harvest festival used to be celebrated at Sree Cauvery School premises in Kuvempunagar.

This year’s celebrations will commence at 6 pm in the Samaja premises. All traditional dances of Kodavas will be performed during Puthari Namme. Kadh (paddy sheaf) will be distributed by Samaja volunteers to all those present. Thambutt prasada distribution is cancelled.

As a prelude to Puthari Namme, a five-day Eedu has been arranged from Dec.1 to  5 in the Samaja premises from 6 pm onwards where all cultural dances will be performed, according to a press release from Mukkatira B. Jeevan,  Hon. Secretary of the Samaja.
