Sir,
Our City Ramakrishna Ashrama, just celebrated its annual celebrations last week, conducting a series of lectures in all the professional colleges and University of Mysore. Well known, senior monks of the order from Belur Math, Hyderabad, Tirupati rendered talks of interest to the students.
In the ashram, a number of musical concerts were organised every evening. The culmination event was very invigorating to us, spiritual seekers, where discourses by the monks mentioned above, was the highlight.
Under the guidance of the, Adhyaksha of the ashram, Swami Atmajnanandaji and all the monks, brothers and volunteers, the programmes were well attended and organised.
We, Mysoreans, are lucky to have such a strong spiritual presence spreading its fragrance in the heart of the city. A nice place to spend a few hours, a walk around the well planned garden, browse through the innumerable books at the book stall and library, have a chat with the monks, listen to the discourses at the auditorium, or just sit down and relax in the prayer hall, all of it, in spite of the ashram being on the busy KRS Road.
As Swami Vivekananda rightly said, ‘such peacefulness, such contentment, such love, such power of silent and incessant work, and such manifestation of lion’s strength in times of action — where else you will find these!’
