Rahul Gandhi files papers, seeks re-election from Wayanad

Wayanad: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi filed his nomination on Wednesday seeking re-election from Wayanad Constituency in Kerala for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. Kerala will be going to elections in the second phase on Apr. 26 along with Karnataka.

Rahul Gandhi, the sitting MP of Wayanad, accompanied by his sister Priyanka Gandhi and All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary K.C. Venugopal and other senior leaders of the party submitted his nomination papers to the District Collector of Wayanad, who is also the Returning Officer.

Rahul, who reached Wayanad by chopper, later took out a road show from Kalpetta to Civil Station. In his address later, Rahul promised to be with the people of Wayanad in facing all the issues including man-animal conflict.

“Wayanad Constituency is like my home and the people here are my family. I am grateful to the people of Wayanad for their unwavering support. When we are stepping into the new era of NYAY, I would like to reiterate my dedication to serve you all according to my capabilities,” added Rahul Gandhi.
