Mysore/Mysuru: The brief spell of rains in city on June 3 night, has uprooted a tree at Vivekananda Circle besides bringing down tree branches at Chamundipuram 4th Cross on Thursday.
The rains, which began with a drizzle at about 6 pm, picked up pace and began to pour continuously from 6.45 pm, which went on till 9 pm.
Huge branches of a tree on the 4th Cross in Chamundipuram broke and fell across the road disrupting power. Soon, MCC’s Abhaya team, which arrived at the spot, cut the branches and cleared the road.
In another rain-related incident, the compound of Banashankari Park, next to Subbegowda Bus Shelter at Kuvempunagar collapsed on Thursday night.
Residents said that the compound was constructed just four months ago and added that the rain had exposed the sub-standard works.
Meanwhile, early in the day yesterday, a huge tree got uprooted due to wet soil at Vivekananda Circle. Abhaya team arrived and cut the tree to clear the road.
