‘Rajendra Sri Seva’ Award conferred on eminent personalities

Mysuru: Chamundeshwari MLA G.T. Devegowda said that Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Swamiji strived for providing education to all sections of the society irrespective of caste and creed.

He was speaking at the 109th birth anniversary of late Suttur Mutt Seer Dr. Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Swamiji and Rajendra Sri Seva Award conferment programme organised by Mysuru Sharana Mandali at the Institution of Engineers on JLB Road here this morning.

Pointing out that, it is laudable that the Sharana Mandali has instituted an award in the name of late Sri Shivarathri Rajendra Swamiji, Devegowda said that, it is not possible for everyone to become a Guru. Stating that Guru is like a God, he recalled  the yeoman service rendered by Rajendra Swamiji to the society.

“Poverty and wealth are not permanent for a human being. As such, the people should not be scared when they face problems or challenges and at the same time, does not become arrogant or audacious whenever they get rich by getting wealth,” he said while regretting that the society is getting more and more dirtier with the passage of time. He called upon the people to follow the principles advocated by Saints and Seers for the wellbeing of the society.

JSS institutions, Suttur,  Co-ordinator and Columnist G.L. Tripurantaka delivered a talk on Dr. Sri  Rajendra Swamiji’s life and achievements.

Eminent personalities — Prof.Jayaprakash Gowda of Mandya (Organisation), IPS Officer Dr. Dharanidevi Malagatti (Administration), M. Ramappa and T.G. Adisheshan Gowda (Education), Ravi Shastri (Business) and Ramachandra (Social Service), were conferred the prestigious ‘Rajendra Sri Seva’ Award on the occasion.

District Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Maddikere Gopal, Mysuru Sharana Mandali President Mugur Nanjundaswamy and others were present.
