Bengaluru: The State Government has constituted an Advisory Committee for the selection of achievers for this year’s Rajyotsava Award.
The Advisory Committee consisting of 32 members is headed by Kannada and Culture Minister Sunil Kumar. With the State celebrating the 66th Kannada Rajyotsava this year, it has been decided to present the award to 66 achievers from various fields.
The State Government has evolved a plan as per which members of the public can recommend the names of achievers for this year’s Rajyotsava Award. They can recommend the names to the Advisory Committee online before Oct. 15.

Ganesh (Sports), Brigadier Purvimath (Army), Tiger Ashok Kumar (Police), Pailwan Maheshwaran (Wrestling), Dr. Shivalingaiah (Education), Dada Kalandar (Social Activist), Yalandur Avinash (Film), K.S. Jayanth (Social Activist), Ghansham Bhandage (Cinema, Cultural), Dr. Ereshi (Education), B. Shambhulingappa (Miscellaneous), Shivanna (Literature), Nagaraj Nayak (Environment, Literature), Dr. Nemichandra (Science), Baburao Mudabi (Social Activist), Vanaja Sriram (Education), Harish Sriram (Sports), E. Prema (Social Activist), Sahitya Academy President Dr. Vasanthkumar, Lalithakala Academy President D. Mahendra, Nataka Academy President Prof. R. Department of Kannada and Culture Director Rangappa is the Member-Secretary of the Committee.
