Rakesh, a 1st PUC student of Marimallappa’s PU College, Mysuru, has been selected to attend World Cup Sub-Junior Wrestling selection trials to be held at Sonepat, Haryana, on Aug. 17.
Earlier he attended a one-month Indian Sub-Junior Wrestling Camp at NIS, Patiala from May 16. A National-level bronze medallist in the 100 kg category, Rakesh, is the son a famous wrestler from Mysuru, Shankar Chakravarthy (CAR Police HQ, Mysuru) and J. Latha. Rakesh trains under the guidance of L. Manjappa, retired SAI wrestling coach and practices at the University Lions’ Hall in Mysuru.
