Mysuru: More than 300 volunteers took out an anti-tobacco rally from the District Health and Family Welfare Office at Nazarbad this morning on the occasion of ‘World No Tobacco Day’.
The rally was flagged off by environmentalist Vasanthkumar Mysoremath. The rally passed through SP Office Circle, Gopal Gowda Hospital Circle, Nazarbad Main Road and culminated at the DHO’s office. Members of Tambaku Virodi Vedike and nursing students of JSS Nursing College, Gopal Gowda Nursing College, MMC&RI and Apollo BGS Nursing College participated in the rally by holding placards and distributing pamphlets on the ill-effects of tobacco.
District TB Officer Dr. Survarna, District Health Education Officer Dr. Prakash, District Leprosy Eradication Officer Dr. Manju Prakash and others were present.
