Mysuru: Ramakrishnanagar Circle will soon be installed with the statue of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa. The statue of Sri Paramahamsa, which is 15 tonne and 10 ft. tall, will be installed by Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) in a month.
Arun Yogiraj, the city sculptor, who carved the recently-installed statute of Jayachamarajendra Wadiyar and yet to be installed Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s statue, has been carving the statue of Sri Paramahamsa at his workshop in city for the past 10 days. Speaking to Star of Mysore, Arun said that the statue was being carved using a white marble brought from Rajasthan. “The marble is around 45 tonne and once the statue is ready it will weigh 15-16 tonne. It will be placed inside a pedestal resembling lotus for which the work is nearing completion,” he said.

The statue will stand 10 ft. tall and is said to be the tallest statue of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa in the country, according to sources. Arun Yogiraj is being assisted by eight other sculptors.
MUDA Chairman D. Dhruvakumar, who visited the workshop, told SOM that the Circle had been developed at a cost of Rs. 4.30 crore on the lines of K.R. Circle and MUDA was spending Rs. 47 lakh for the statue.
